Buffering is the most common IPTV complaint and it usually has a simple cause. Work through these in order. Stop when the problem goes away.
1. Restart everything
Restart the device, then the router. Wait two minutes for the router to reconnect. This clears a surprising number of problems.
2. Check whether it is just one channel
If only one channel stutters, the issue is probably at the source rather than in your home. Try another channel. If everything else is fine, that channel has a temporary problem.
3. Test your broadband
Run a speed test on the same device if you can. Compare the result with what you need. As a planning guide, many households allow roughly 5 Mbps for each HD stream and around 25 Mbps for each 4K stream, plus some headroom. Our speed calculator does the sum for your household.
4. Fix the Wi-Fi
- Move the router or the device closer, or remove obstacles between them.
- Use the 5 GHz band if your device supports it.
- Use an Ethernet cable if you can. It is the most dependable option.
- Pause large downloads and updates on other devices.
5. Check evening congestion
If buffering only happens at busy times, the cause may be local congestion or too many devices on your connection. Reduce simultaneous streams to test.
6. Check the device
Very old sticks and TVs struggle with high-resolution streams. Free up storage, update the app and the system, and try a lower resolution. See supported devices.
7. Talk to your provider
If all of the above looks healthy, tell your provider which channel, which time and which device. Specific details let support help quickly. You can message us on WhatsApp at any time.
A note on VPNs
A VPN can add delay and reduce speed. If you use one, test with it switched off.
