An IPTV subscription is easy to buy and surprisingly hard to judge from a landing page. This checklist takes a few minutes and avoids most of the common problems.
The checklist
- A real company. Look for a legal name, a company number and a postal address, then check the number on the Companies House register. Ours are on the about page.
- Clear pricing in pounds. You should know the price, what it covers and whether VAT or fees are added.
- How renewal works. Find out whether the plan renews automatically, when you are charged and how to stop it. Ask before you pay, not afterwards.
- How to cancel and get a refund. A provider should point you to written terms and a refund policy.
- How many devices. Check how many screens can stream at the same time and what each extra one costs.
- Which devices work. Confirm your TV, stick or phone is supported. Start with our device guide.
- Real support. Ask how you reach a person, at what hours and how quickly they reply.
- Honest claims. Be wary of guaranteed results, unlimited everything and reviews you cannot trace to a real person.
- Licensing. Ask where the channels come from and whether the provider has the right to supply them. A trustworthy provider will answer plainly.
Red flags
- Payment only by methods that cannot be traced or reversed.
- No company details, or a company number that does not match the name.
- Pressure to pay immediately.
- Promises that sound too good to be true.
Third-party player apps
Some player apps charge their own fee on top of your subscription. That fee is separate from what you pay a provider. Our installation guide flags this wherever it applies.
